INVESTIGATIONS are underway after a tip-off that Colonial Farebrother Sullivan Trophy challenge match tickets are illegally been sold to the public.

The Fiji Rugby Union headquarters confirmed that someone was illegally selling tickets for the match between Nadroga and Naitasiri this Saturday.

"We are looking into it and investigationsl continue to find the source,” The FRU told the Fiji Times.

"We are really concerned about the matter because a portion of the takings will benefit the players themselves."

FRU has confirmed that 2000 tickets have been given to the Nadroga Rugby Union to be sold for the Colonial Farebrother Sullivan challenge match against holder Naitasiri at the Vodafone Ratu Cakobau Park on Saturday.

"The ticket is selling like hot cakes at the moment."

EXTRA SEATS FOR RUGBY SHOWDOWN

THE Fiji Rugby Union confirmed that temporary stands have been erected to cater for supporters who will converge at Ratu Cakobau Park to witness Naitasiri defend the Farebrother Sullivan against Nadroga this Saturday.

An extra 2000 seats will be available to cater for the big number of spectators from both provincial teams who will convege in Nausori.

FRU operations manager Vilikesa Rinavuaka said the match was to have been moved to the TFL Stadium in Suva, but Naitasiri, as trophy holders, has decided to have the match in Nausori.

"Ratu Cakobau Park has a seating capacity of 9000 and the temporary stands will cater for about 2000 extra fans," Rinavuaka said.

"The temporary stand will be erected towards the airport end of the ground."

The FRU also stated the park's wooden grandstands were firm enough to withstand the tense load.

In the last two challenge matches, the grandstand was filled to capacity with some spectators turned away by security.

Meanwhile, the FRU is investigating the sale of bogus tickets for Satur-day's match.

The FRU said someone was illegally selling tickets.

"We are looking into the matter and investigation is still continuing.

"We are really concerned about the matter," the FRU said.
