Tailevu to party

THE Tailevu rugby team, officials and their families have been invited to Bau Island to celebrate the 2007 Farebrother Sullivan trophy success with the vanua of Kubuna today.
The Tailevu Rugby Football Union's patron, Ratu Apenisa Cakobau in extending the invitation said that the boys and the officials had done a great job in terms of getting the Tailevu people together and enjoy the pride of Tailevuans.
It will be a celebration that will start off a series of celebration in Tailevu.
It is expected that the celebration will start with the "cere" and followed by entertainment like meke, dancing and food to thank the Kubuna warriors for a job well done in the 2007 season.
The team and the officials will leave for Bau Island at 9am from the VIP venue at Rt Cakobau Park.
Players and officials are expected to be in bula shirts supplied by the TRFU.
Tailevu media officer, Mosese Bakaniceva said they didn't expect to be invited by the vanua of Kubuna since they were just doing their jobs and they overwhelmed with joy, also appreciate the recognition given to them by the patron and the vanua of Kubuna.
It is expected that more than 120 people will be hosted at Bau island.
"To all the TRFU supporters, vinaka vakalevu for your support and prayers and we should all thank and praise God for giving us his favour," Bakaniceva said.
Tailevu wrested the prized silverware from Nadroga and made successful defences in challenges from Ovalau, Naitasiri, Lautoka, Suva, Nadi and Tavua. The side was coached by former Fiji and Suva number eight Inoke Male
The TRFU has approved the following. Celebration in Bau on, AGM at Nausori Club on 01/12/07, Victory march on 08/12/07, Award Night on 15/12/07.
