The Fiji Times - Friday, November 06, 2009 7:05 PM
FIJI Rugby Union coaches Iosefo Bele, Alifereti Mocelutu and Belasio Vukiwai will be part of a coaching seminar at the Counties Manukau Club in New Zealand next week.
The trio departed for Auckland yesterday, to up skill their knowledge in the sport.
Bele coached the Fiji under-19 team during the Federation of Oceania Rugby Union tournament in Nadi in 2008.
The former Fiji Bati said the coaching seminar would focus on rugby development.
He said it was timely to go abroad for the seminar as rugby heads into its off season.
"I'm happy to be part of the group to be selected for this trip," Bele said.
"You learn something new everyday.
"This seminar will be ideal to broaden our knowledge on rugby development. We will also be able to get an insight on the rugby structure of Counties Manukau."
Bele played two matches for Fiji in 1988 against Hawaii and Canterbury.
Vukiwai, a hooker, earned one Test cap for Fiji against Tonga in 1984.
He represented Fiji against Llanelli, London Welsh, Ulster, Cross Keys and British Columbia.
Mocelutu had a long serving career for Fiji from 1994 to 2003.
The number eight earned 34 Test caps in the national jumper and played in the 1999 and 2003 Rugby World Cups.
