The Fiji Times - Thursday, October 29, 2009 8:04 PM

Police team captain Etonia Naba is quietly confident the Sukuna Bowl will return to Nasova for another year when the dust settles at the National Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

The lawmen take on arch rivals Army for the prestigious Bowl and Naba says they are even aware that the soldiers have stepped up their preparation for the annual clash.

"The same as us. The build-up we went through was for nothing else but to win," the Nadroga and former national 7s team forward said.

Speaking to the media after the captain's run yesterday, he said Police have prepared mentally and spiritually for the clash tomorrow afternoon.

"We won't be leaving any stone unturned against Army," he said.

"We know their strength. They'll try to run us out wide but we are prepared for that."

Assistant manager Sergeant Suliano Tevita said the teams have been through intensive training for the last six weeks.

"We have been camping together and had two warm-up games against the Nadroga team before their Colonial Farebrother Sullivan Trophy challenge match against Naitasiri," he said.

Most players are from Nadroga; comprising of five forwards and three backlines, two from Vanua Levu, one from Nausori, two from the Nasinu Mobile Unit, two from Lautoka and the rest are from the Suva headquarters

Police will be on full alert concentrate for an scraps as loose men in the likes of Mosese Volavola, Iliesa Ratuva, Samu Bola, Pailo Cata and Naba are all ball hunters.

But much will be at stake this afternoon as both sides will neither take nor give any quarter from the kick-off.

Supporting Naba is vice captain Aporosa Vata who will be the link between the forwards and backline.
