What do you think of the Sabotage claims?

THERE have been claims that the Fiji sevens side was sabotaged last weekend in Hong Kong. What do you think?

The person that came up with the idea of sabotage should be investigated thoroughly. Come on FRU, you are too childish and irresponsible to be accepting such nonsense. Also it is unbecoming to use such cases. NZ was just too good for Fiji, simple as that. You could draw your conclusion even at the quarterfinal stage against Kenya that they were struggling. Majority of the people had not given Fiji any chance against NZ just be looking at the lack of any game plan & the sluggish appearnace and unfit of the players at HK.

I'll tell you who the culprit was, it's the team Manager. We experienced it first hand in HK, he showed no respect for the players. He looked like he was there on a sightseeing tour instead of being a manager. He was out on the field first with video camera on hand filming the spectators, when he should be checking on what the team needs before their game! NO WONDER the team didn't perform as their own welfare were being ignored!!

When Serevi Coached the team and lost in a final there were people who pointed finger at him and said he should retire but as soon as they won in the next finals the same people praised Serevi and called him 'no wonder he is the maestro'. When Serevi resigned from FRU, these same people celebrated and now that they are not winning any tournament the same people are calling him back. These are some of my colleagues and I'm writing this from my own experience.I wondered how easily these people switched sides.

Now they can see what Serevi is capable of and what difference he brought to the game of Sevens.

I personally agree that Serevi should be brought back and given the same respect and position as a coach/player. He rightfully deserves to be the coach/player that he was and lead our warriors to victory. Its high time FRU should give back something to Serevi for his contribution to Fiji Sevens and what can be better than his wish to play in Hongkong. Its really saddening to see Serevi not playing for Fiji in Hongkong Sevens. that was not only Serevi's Wish but also of so many fans like me out there to see him play his final days of games in the same grounds where he started.

Now i understand why people had been saying that its a curse on FRU. I know such a humble person like Serevi can never curse for what he loves the most but its the curse of the people and fans that has put FRU in such a position. only blame yourself leaders of FRU and BRING MR. SEREVI BACK. WE LOVE HIM AND WANT TO SEE HIM PLAY FOR FIJI FOR AS LONG AS HE WISHES TO.

if the world knows he is the king of sevens why cant FRU see that and give him the chance or is there any personal grudges on him, now what we are going through is as simple as there is a saying ( beat the wife cos the dhal soup had less haldi in it)

get outta here! who came up with that crap? the kiwis just kicked our ass in hong kong, plain & simple. whats next some vodoo stuff going on that causing this chain of embarassment? we lost the game, take it as a man, go back regroup and find some way out of this shitty situation....this series is lost, focus on the IRB World Cup in Dubai. but dont insult the fans intelligence with a whole lot of ballony as game fixing.

NZ was a better team.We always cannot be the winners. When we lose we have to blame and it has to go to somebody and this time it has gone to Serevi. For how many years NZ has its coach despite losing or winning. Bring Serevi and let him handle the team alone. Also some clean up to be done at FRU which is long overdue.

Just a comment against Ili Tabua who said that Serevi was too old. If he didn't know the FRU CEO was playing top club level rugby well above his 30s. Tavanavanua was playing centre for the Marist club even into his 40s. Also if Ili Tabua cannot remember I think the retiring age for rugby is 45yrs because Pita Fatialofa of Samoa was 45 when he played against South Africa in their gutsy quarter-final. They may have lost to the world champs for 95 but Pita did not show he was 45yrs with his mobility on the paddock and tough tackles. Stop the age stratification - if you limit yourself that way then very soon we'll have alot of old people before their time! Serevi can still play or coach or both! Kivei Tabu kei Tavanavanua laga ga vei kemudrau na bamboo bitu boci ruarua!! Hihihi!

What a load of B.S! Both the source of this story and the reporter should be sideswiped with a BMW. I think the FRU headquaters should be relocated to a more positive environment. Every year a new idiot will make a stupid comment from that house. Or else the whole building should be uprooted with the management staff and moved to the museum. Something is wrong with either the location because every normal person who sits on the board there says something crazy later on. I wonder where such idiotic stories qualify to be printed?? Sabotage......are they crazy !!!!!...New Zealand was just better on the day. They were better prepared physically & mentally. Come on FRU, if you can't come up with a winning formula, at least be humble enough to admit it, do not blame it on Serevi who has done more for Fiji (sevens & tourism) than any of you fatheads could ever dream on.

Serevi was the person who had brought many joys to the nation & he will not do this kind of dirty acts. He has moulded alot of players which Fiji is proud of today.

Dont blame him. NZ was a much better team & Fiji was a mismatch. Get in Serevi for the last time & let him handle the whole team without any interence.

No wonder Fiji team did not attempt to penetrate NZ try line at least once. they were definitely fooled by Sir Serevi. It is a Shame that the guy prays to lord almighty and has such sinister motive against our country.
The game plan with NZ is a clear indication of sabotage by Sir Serevi and our boys were manipulated.

Flip of the coin I would say, to refocus the issue on Serevi. The only notable former member in HK was Serevi himself – so does this mean that he may be the culprit here as claimed by the media? All hearsay, this spectacle is only shifting the chronicle from the FRU abandoning Serevi issue. Common FRU be transparent! remember the public endow your pocket[s].

Timoci you requested for the nation to refrain from negative comments /curse and support the team, well am really sorry if the nations and close rugby supporters are still not satisfied with the result and the issue on Serevi, I doubt it would be an easy task to sympathize to your request…” actions speaks louder than words” remember “NATO’ – No Action Talk Only”

The only sabotage of the day was the inconsistency of our game pattern that almost a non rugby player could easily predict our destination before our shameful exist.

Side track:
Now we have another ploy by they view as ‘to keep the opposition guessing”. Lepani still remains a grudge to Savou, I assume. What is wrong with Leps? He was the most consistent aggressive player of the team in HK even since his first outing – now relegated to the bench against England – the plot is already lost! The English will take advantage of our size this time around by committing and offloading due to our size – I think we need strong tacklers in likes of Leps considering our backs size [Vucago – Ryder & Mawi].

Across the board the three starting inside backs have the same mode of tackle [not ball and all] its either ‘jersey pull’ or a ‘leg hang’ but the objective is still boundless for continuity. Hopefully we have tested the English game mode and by addressing the size difference - its not the size in terms of being ‘scared’ but the mode to sequester objective [ball] especially to our backs.

Anyway – wish our team well.

No grudges but sharing a constructive perspective to add dimensional view and strategical scrutiny to FRU like my fellow bloggers.

So far they have accused Serevi of bribery and corruption ... what next? I don't believe a word of it - nice to see he is playing in Japan this weekend :-) At least someone wants him. Wonder if he would fancy coming over to the UK to do the Bournemouth 7's - that would be just fantastic.

is savou mad or just being stupid..now his choosing masi at rover position,shit he should be shuffling players around when in fiji and testing them then...not on an irb series tournament..i think all of fiji knew that leps was picked becoz he was the best rover..not to go and warm the bench...hope his wonderfull plan doesn't back fire and we end up losing to a young and new look england side..and meet south africa in the quarters...nxt plane bak home,sega au kaya

FRU can spin the story all they want but the truth of the matter is in the result.

They can blame Serevi, Savou, or even God. but nothing is going to change the fact that the team has a lousy record this season.

They need to suck it up and take responsible for their inactions, and owned up to the fans and admitted their mistake.

But to go around and spread rumors and innuendos, and try to spin the story to their favors will not fly with me and many loyal fans in Fiji and around the world.
