SPECULATION:NATIONAL sevens coach Waisale Serevi has the full support of the Fiji Rugby Union and its board members.

NATIONAL sevens coach Waisale Serevi has the full support of the Fiji Rugby Union and its board members.
These were the comments made by FRU chief executive Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua, who put to rest all speculations.
There have been reports that there were certain members within FRU, who were not very happy with the maestro making a comeback.
Serevi was appointed two weeks ago, and will coach the Fiji team for the 2008/2009 International Rugby Board Sevens World Series and the World Cup in Dubai next year.
“There is no truth in the matter,” Ratu Timoci said.
“FRU and all its members are fully behind Serevi’s appointment.
“There is no split.”
Meanwhile, Ratu Timoci said they will advertise for the position of High Performance Unit manager.
This after current HPU manager Peter Murphy decided to take up a new challenge when his term expires at the end of this year.
“Locals will also be allowed to apply and the best will be chosen,” Ratu Timoci said.
Murphy said with him handing in a four-month notice, the transition to the new person would be easy.
He said the FRU had a lot of time to select the best candidate.
Murphy said it was not up to him to comment whether the position should be localised.
