They need to be MENTALLY tough to push off NZ or any other team. Somebody to PSYCHE them up and drill and grill into them the KILLER instinct. Do not commit BUT run the ball, create space for the next runner and always try to retain possession.

We have runners and speedsters so when, especially NZ, is up on defence, kick the ball behind them for they will have to turn and run but our boys will be running on a straight line of attack. NZ will surely try to shut the boys out and rattle them into making mistakes.

Last BUT NOT least, keep your cool and please, no Yellow cards.

I remember when the late Ravonu was around he once sad on the radio that if you take a sevens team dont forget to take people who can give and take people who can attack and most importantly to tackle , if we can recall all the the past tournaments that Fiji has lost our main weakness was our tackling sometimes it takes the third attemtp to bring a man down so if only we could improve our deffence we will be over the moon again . No offence but Joe needs to admit that he doesn't have any extra aces up his sleeves. You and your buddy coaches will somehow have to swallow your pride and give Wai some sort of coaching capacity or as a technical advisor.

Did you read the points table at the end of the last season or are you just talking rubbish!!!

Making the finals consistently, tournamnet after tournament is not the work of a loser, and we in Fiji are never embarrased by our 7's team, win or lose. We are proud of them and stand behind them at all times.

They garner a lot of positive publicity at times like this when our country needs all the help we can get, and they do us proud.

Whatever results they achieve, as long as they give it their very best effort, we will be happy.

Please remember we are a very small country and many of us are related to and friends with many of the team members and management, and do not appreciate them being denigrated by your kind.

The guys are our brothers and like family we stick together, win or lose.

the FJ 7's team can win the tournament provided they treat every game as a final and improve their defence and set pieces.they should deny the opposition possesion and refrain from kicking balls won from the opposition this puts added pressure on opp.they should as one commentator once said 'tackle anything that moved'.if we do not have fast wingers any winger should know that you could beat your faster opponent by adding variations to your game and keep him guessing. such tactic is to run at angles,chip kicks,dummy passes,side steps and the main one,test his defence.our 1/2 back is not pressuring his opponent and during lineouts should follow or move with the ball as it is airborne as at times no one catches the ball thrown in.this is evident in the 15's code.I only know of 2 halfbacks who have adopted this tactic,i.e.george gregan (aust) and yours truly.lastly they should use the width of the field to stretch the defence and never,never show that you are tired or injured,force that smile on your face or get subbed (replaced).
