Should sevens legend Waisale Serevi, 39, be given a farewell run at the Hong Kong Sevens this year for his sparkling contribution to the game and Fiji's name on the international arena?

- Yes! he deserves to be included and be part of sevens future for Fiji and world. He told the world that Hong Kong would be his last tourney. He has done a lot for the game and his country. He is the sevens wizard and he will be around sevens rugby for a very long time. ( Waisele, thank you) Much blessings.

- Give Serevi one last chance and see for yourself what he can do. Because its not him alone, as he always said in the past, its GOD thats always with him. Yes he lost in some tuornaments but he always bounce back and dont forget no other Team from any Countries in the world has ever beaten NZ to win the IRB series only Fiji IN SEREVI's LEADERSHIP.

- I believe that FRU should for the last time give anther chance to the Garani man to play at HK.
Serevi has done a lot for Fiji in sevens Rugby and maybe he is a bit slow but remember he is playing with another 6 players and even Fiji has a habit of playing with only 6 players at times but still come out the winner.
For the last time, pliz include Wai as he is still super fit,he is playing in big tournaments and he has tons of x-perienced up his sleeve.
But, I know FRU will never listen to our comments on this column.

- Bring back Serevi, Ryder, Naevo, Nabuliwaqa Bolavucu, Roko...and who says Vunibaka is old? Vunibaka was certainly the missing link in the current Fiji team, for he can create space and deliver, tackle hard, and with brilliant speed. I dont know where that Prison Warden Coach was looking during the last Provincial Sevens in Lautoka.

- Serevi is one of the talented player in Sevens no doubt about it, and yes he should be given a chance to either take part if he passes the fitness test to play for Fiji or asked to join the management that goes to Hong Kong for his valuable technical support under the Official Fiji Banner.
Looking at playmakers positions played by most nations even Kenya, PNG and USA it is evident the impact serevi has on the game, style of play, goose steps and side steps for a start. He is no doubt the legendary Pele for Sevens Rugby.
May god bless him and his family.

- All great sportsmen know when its time to quit. Quiting when you are at the top is the smart thing to do. Leave gracefully so the world will remember the star you are. One bad performance can ruin your reputations.Remember Sir revi you are not the young man you used to be.As a sportsman myself we always think we can still do it one more time but when our body fails us, on the field we are disappointed with ourselves and thats what the fans don't see. On the field you must hold your own. The spirit is willing but the body is weak. FRU should let you go as a moral booster for the team your presences and words is what the boys need. Don't compete for their positions they may lose their respect for you.Surrender gracefully the things of youth.
- Rabba of Kiribati
- Same rule should apply to all the players if they want to represent Fiji in Hong Kong and Serevi is no exception. If he is available and if he passes his fittness test then i think FRU should give him a good farewell in Hong Kong.
Serevi is a king of 7's, he has done a lot for rugby and he will continue doing it as he has got a true FIJIAN HEART.
It's time FRU realises his contribution towards rugby in the country where Serevi has marketed Fiji from a dot to a top rugby playing nation in the world.
Vinaka Tau for your hearty contribution to the country.
God bless you and your family for the sacrifices you have done for our beloved nation.
- Ophelia of Santa Rosa, USA
- C'mon FRU..give him another chance to play. He has done so much to our beloved country, in the field so as Tourism.
- Deepak Singh of Suva
- Didnt we farewell him already? I mean, how many farewells does a player need to really give another player a chance. Come on Serevi, we saw how you dazzled everyone with you rugby moves. You are already a legend. Its time you take a backroom staff job at the FRFU to help younger player break into the team. We understand that you still have it in you to go all the way, but its time you stepped down and let the young players make the grade. Dont you think ?

- Well I believe that Sir Revi still has what it takes to be a champion sevens player. He has done so much for the people of Fiji here and Abroad. He has brought happiness in the time of heartache He has brought smiles in the time of sadness.
What has Tuivanuavou broUght for the people of Fiji absolutely nothing. His personal grudge against the great man should be left in the OLD FRU office.
I trully believe that Joe savou is just a scapegoat of the CEOS EVIL AGENDAS. But at the end of the day LIGHT always overcome DARKNESS. If the management do not REACT quickly then we will all drown in a sea of darkness that was once the playground of the FIJI team during CAWANIBUKA-TABULUTU-CAMAs Reign all we managed was the PLATES the BOWLS and the FORKS nothing more.
Until SIR REVI came into the picture and everything changed we won the world cup we won the IRB we won tournaments.
Now they are trying to DISCARD him again
My HUMBLE requests is to please accept SIR REVIs last wishes and let him play in Hong Kong even if plays just two minutes for each game please let him go he would also be a lot of help to SAVOU and bring us the glory like he has always done
PLEASE ACCEPT SEREVIS WISHES TO REPRESENT HIS BELOVED COUNTRY FOR THE LAST TIME IN HIS FAVOURITE HUNTING GROUND "SO KON PO" OR HAPPY VALLEY WHERE THE GREATEST PLAYERS ON EARTH ARE BAPTISED WITH FIRE

yes he should. He is the reason that fiji has made a name in IRB 7s. He is the King of Fiji Rugby. We must give him the chance to shine one more time for fiji in hong kong. To see him play in hong kong one more time that is the best gift anyone can give to fiji. Serevi i salute you for your triedless diecation to Fiji 7s.

- Instead of wasting money on Tavanavanua and other staff at Rugby House going to HK, Tamai Una should be given the green light.
What Tomasi Cama did to him is now being done by Savou. The two men know that Tamai Una outsmarts and outshines them in all aspects of 7's. What Jo Savou should do is shove his pride aside and let the gentleman into the side - he will bring to Savou what Savou needs to prove that he is a good coach - trophies at Wellington and HONG KONG. Otherwise, no dice Jo, na vere vakabau a caka vei Tamai Una, will also be done to you, mark my words!!

- why not the FRU selectors pay a visit to a local 7s Tournament and watch the Sir Revi's Drifters Team. They exhibit the real class and combination for the ideal Fiji Team. They dazzle the crowd at Nalili 7s last week and am sure FRU is missing the services of players like Leps, Duidomo, Bobo's dro etc to name a few. maybe consider Revi the mastermind of the team. i dreamt last nite of the upcoming Wellington in which our team did not make it to the 1/4s. i prayed to God this morning not to hurt my heart anymore after 2 consecutive disappointments in the 1st 2 series..

- Serevi has had all the chances in the world. All the folks that are blaming FRU, should ask themselves why this has not been done. If he is the only one, why was he asked to step down? Only because Serevi knows exactly what he has been doing to FRU. FRU has done way too much for him and he has been just thinking of himself. If you have travelled with him to play, you will know how much expenses this guy leaves for FRU to pay even though he is given all the allowance allowed to him. He is too self centered and thought that FRU will never dismiss him. No one is invicible. Peace.

- Can!t some people use their eyes and head as to what Wai has been doing after he was forced to stand down from coaching ? Hasn!t he been using his talent and energy in preparing a shadow Fiji 7!s team ! From this,we can clearly see that he still has the interest, passion and love to do what God best blessed him with. I wish one thing : if the Fiji 7!s team looses the Wellington and LA sevens tournaments , than FRU to invite Wai and his management to take over the Fiji!s heroes in the rest of the IRB 7!s competion. Hows that ? Deal or No deal !

- I DO NOT KNOW WHETHER HE SHOULD PLAY OR NOT. BUT ALL THAT I AM SAYING IS THAT THIS MAN MUST ALWAYS BE PART OF BOTH 7S AND 15S TEAM MANAGEMENT.
WAI HAS ALOT TO CONTRIBUTE TO OUR PLAYERS IN MANY WAYS - SKILLS, MOTIVATION, INTERGRITY, LEADERSHIP, TEAM BONDING, SPIRITUAL ETC ETC. HE HAS MANY THINGS TO OFFER IN ORDER TO BRING A FIJIAN YOUNG MAN NOT ONLY AS RUGBY PLAYER BUT TO BE A SUCCESSFUL REAL MAN AS WELL.
RUGBY IS NOT ABOUT PLAYING RUGBY ONLY BUT ITS ABOUT DEVELOPING AND NATURING YOUNG FIJIAN MEN TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE - SHOULD BE THE ULTIMATE GOAL.
YOU DEVELOP A CHARATER OF A PERSON FIRST, RUGBY AND RESULT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY RESOLVED. THAT IS WHERE WAI AND TATALA RINAKAMA MAKES A LOT OF DIFFERENCE WHEN THEY INVOLVE IN RUGBY MANAGEMENT. THEY START FIRST WITH CHARACTER FIRST. OTHER THINGS WILL FALL INTO PLACE.
PLEASE MAKE THE WISE CHOICE. FRU KNOWS.

- Yay, Go Serevi Go! Servei for PM too.

- No question there. Yes we should let him play one last time for his country. We should be honored to see the wizard in action in the flesh one last time. His pressence alone in Hong Kong says it all. We can tell our kids that we watched him play in the day because from here on out, stories and video tapes don't do justice compared to watching him in the flesh. The young players have another 20 years in front of them but this is the only one last time the wizard wants to play. This shouldn't even be a disscussion. Later.
- Naidu of Taveuni
- Serevi should be given the opportunity to play...when he is in the team...people know..even if they are losing they can win.... but without him Fiji cannot come from behind and win...Serevi has done alot...
after this 2nd leg JS should pick his best players and play against Serevi's drifters players...that should be the final selection for the 3rd leg...since the drifters have retained their title...
FRU...if u wanna do sth for Fiji, give Serevi a chance...
- Pat of ltka
- let him go to hong kong but as asst coach or a back up player
- Rugby Fanatic of Nadi
- YES! He should!!! In recognition of his contribution to the game of 7s where he has been the nemesis of all 7s coaches and teams around the world - this would be a fitting farewell from the little man that they named - SIR-EVI...he mesmerized millions of 7s followers around the world, his cheeky goose-step being imitated by players the world over, his cool headed play even when the chips were down...He is indeed the greatest 7s player ever to have grazed the paddocks of So Kom Po!!
With his mates, he has brought glory to Fiji more than once...Serevi has singularly glamorized the game of 7s rugby....and his name will always be mentioned by commentators covering the game of 7s rugby in any international meet...
Rugby house should just eat humble pie and for this last time acknowledge the contribution of this man - who had turned down so many lucrative offers in the past all for the love of his nation! Can we reciprocate this??? or will we be arrogant arses and be real dic?/>$%# like those at Rugby house???
A great suggestion by a poster above - pitch the national team against the drifters and pick a squad for Hong Kong from there....
- ICEMAN of suva
- frfu when will you award reconition for dedication and true sportsmanship in every sense of the word (like for 20 years consistently)if anyone deserves a spot & can easily earn it whoelse but the master himself.GOD BLESS YOU WAI.

- With all respect to Wai, he should make way for new and younger players. Sa rauta mada Wai, you have done Fiji proud and I'm sure there are others who are willing to make a name for themselves in 7s. They may not match the achievement that Wai is known for but they should be given opportunity to showcase raw talent that Wai may have been lacking in his glory days. Moce Wai, Moce OB.
- Ashwin Karan Nair of Suva
- I think, he is the most geatest of the sevens player, he should be picked leaving aside all the difference. And I bet he will be the most fittest player if given a run along the players selected for Wellington.
Savou should get him back if Fiji somehow wouldn't Win this weekend's weekends tournament. Savou should give up making false promises to all the good Fiji supporters. Serevi should be brought back if Fiji doesn't win in the current Wellington tournament....and I think he can play for another 4 to 5 years from now.
Good Luck to Fiji team.

- nah i dont think he should go.give oppotunity to the younger boys.his done us proud and now let the other boys prove themselfs.he probably should go as an adviser but as far as playing i think he should give it to the younger generation.let serevi be the bench mark for other players to reach.
- vili. of marshall islands
- I wish the F.r.u. would let him play for the last time.He desreves it.It's the only thing I would wish for to see my kai doing what he does best. That is playing for his country.
- Koroi of Sacramento USA
- Let honor Sirevi in front of the World. He gave us great entertainment and something to boast about, admired, and something to remember in rugby. And let him hang his boot and his #7 jersy at Museum in Suva. What a Honor.Go Fiji!
- LomaiKidd of Fiji
- yep bring him back...Serevi + Fiji 7's = Success. not only do we need him back on the team, but as coach as well (no offence to JS).
All the BEST to the boys in NZ!! Go Fiji Go!!
- Jack of Red River, Texas.
- I understand and respect the stand now taken by FRU to focus on younger players representing Fiji on the IRB Sevens Series as a tool for development and to build a squad to defend the Melrose Cup next year. This is a good move and will no doubt benefit Fiji Rugby in the long run but it is also a move that will effectively close the door on Fiji's Greatest ever Sevens Player.
SEREVI is without doubt the greatest sevens player the World has ever seen, his contribution to the sevens game is peerless and he has done a lot for Fiji. An English poet once wrote in his famous play.."the evil that men do lives after them but the good is often interred with their bones". In years to come, young children of Fiji will be told and in turn will want to know the story about the country's greatest sevens exponent. How do you want history to remember SEREVI? Do you want to remember the 'evils' and let the good interred with SEREVI's bones? or Do you want history to remember the many times SEREVI has brought happiness and Honour for Fiji?
SEREVI has publicly stated that he wants to end his sevens career at Hong Kong, a place where it all started twenty years or nineteen years ago. And I SAY: LET US HONOUR OUR GREATEST SEVENS PLAYER (who has given us so much) BY LETTING HIM PLAY ONE LAST TIME AT HONG KONG.
- Satish of Sigatoka
- Ofcourse Serevi should be given the green light to play in HK.
What a fiiting farewell this could be for a guy who has done so much for this country.

- what a question! simply is a reflection of fru. this man (serevi)? no question exist for him. the world of rugby knew him by name and made us proud. for him to play in hong kong, no question should be asked, cause the whole nation knew what he is capable of and what he can produce, and most importantly, he sure will bring us victory and pride.

- Serevi still regarded by many as the Master in the Sevens code and who brought Fiji Sevens Team to win the Hong Kong trophy 3years in row and none of those in FRU HOUSE has done that so far
- VOTS of suva
- Yes Serevi should be given another chance as the twelve member of the team. I do remember in the past, some players who travel to Hong Kong plays a game only during pool play or hardly plays a game at all. Taking Serevi will not hurt FRU in anyway not even its pocket BUT a bonus as he will contribute immensly in every game thru his experience as a coach and as player as well. C'mon FRU, keep Savou as coach, he can use the master as an impact player in every game.....at least you will be seen as appreciating Serevis contribution to Rugby in Fiji.
- sudhaiya na vasu of Suva Fiji
- If the public is given the chance to vote, all of Fiji will vote for Serevi not only for a last trip to So Kon Po but to relieve all the FRU Excutives and pick his own people to run this corrupted bunch.
A man who has proven to the world that Fiji is in his heart and an ambassador and the best coach there is in 7`s.
He has proven himself in 15`s playing in the World 15 so he is experience in both codes. It very hard to find truthful and talented man today as you can see, even the talatalas and bishops and fathers are going astray.
TRUTH ALWAYS HURTS!
- Gabby Vododuadua of FSM
- The logical thing to do is get a match organised between Wai's Drifters team & Savou's team and tahn pick a team from there....to the selectors...sa rauta mada na masi polo tiko i Rugby House....dou vei qari....dont' mix politics with rugby...
- fjratu of USA
- You all Dum FRU Exectives,He has done alot fof fiji.He is an Ambasdor to Fiji.We all are after him,He should be honored.

- Definitely..! i think Serevi should be given the option of playing in Hong Kong.. Serevi has done so much for the game and played a major role in engraving the name of our country in the rugby world, and that deserves far more honour and respect that he has been given! LET SEREVI PLAY i say! and let him leave the game he has loved with honour! lets show him some deserved recognision. Go Serevi

- LET SEREVI GO AND JOIN THE FIJI SEVEN TEAM TO HONG KONG. THAT IS WHERE WE CAN SEE HIM RETIRED COMPLETLY FROM THE FIJI SEVEN TEAM AND BE RECONIZED AS TRUE CHAMPION OF ALTIMES IN THIS CODE. HE WILL HELP OUR FIJI TEAM TO WIN IN HONG KONG FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A ROW HAS A TRUE CHAMPION IN THE WORLD RUGBY SEVEN.

- He should be given the green light to play his last tournament in sevens rugby. For this is where he started his rugby career and he put Fiji on the world map, as the most dangerous team in the world. He is the vision and not forgetting the master/wizard of this game. He is physically and mentally prepared for this tournament. No regrets....he should def. play in this tournament because he will give the fans exactly what they want "a victorious win at the Hong Kong Sevens." "Go, FIJI, Go!!!!!!!" God Bless.

- Absolutely! Are you kidding me? After his contribution to the sport over the last two decades, it is only fitting that he be given a honorary spot on the team. The guy is well known the world over. So it is only right for him to say farewell to his fans on the stage where it all started. HONK KONG 7's!
